

L5PBiz in 2022
Last year the Halloween Festival returned bigger and badder than ever, plus the Little 5 Points Business Association began their Main Street initiative. The quarterly markets got bigger and Ghost Tours sold out more often than not. Take a look back at 2022 in Little 5 Points below!

2nd Annual Valentine's Mural
Sweet lovers donated to the L5P Security Fund and memorialized a message to their sweethearts in a painting by Rolf Terhokoski.

Mardi Gras Parade
On March 1, The Seed and Feed Abominable Marching Band led a lively Mardi Gras Bar Crawl Parade between a few of L5P's rowdiest bars. Video recap here.

History Tours
Between Phoenix Flies in March, and Atlanta Preservation Center led tours later in the year, tourists and neighbors both came out in droves to learn more about our eccentric history.

Mayor Andre visits L5P Pharmacy
Mayor Andre Dickens and GA State Senator Nan Orrock visited L5P Pharmacy on April 26, to talk with Ira Katz and representatives from the BA about the opioid crisis and small business’ impact on communities.

May Day Market
Despite a bit of drama, the May Day Market featured good pagan fun with handmade goods from over 30 local vendors and a traditional Maypole dance. Check out video here.

Main St Conference
The Business Association took a field trip to Richmond, VA in May with other Atlanta business districts to learn how Main Street impacts communities.

Make Music Day
Despite a small turnout, Atlanta's first ever Make Music Day provided fun folk music to passersby in the plaza.

Launched new website
In August, L5PBiz launched a new website at l5pbiz.com in order to manage future content, and create a home for the stories of L5P.

Educating our members
In 2022, L5PBiz kept our members informed. We brought government officials from APD, the Fire Investigation team, Invest ATL, Dekalb Chamber of Commerce, and the Mayor's office to both in-person and zoom meetings.

Labor Day Mime Theater
L5PBiz put on a silent but hilarious Labor Day Mime Theater with Gateway Performance Productions in Findley Plaza.

Ghost Tours!!!
People loved this year's L5P Ghost Tours! More tours sold out than not, and we often had to add extra dates. Willing participants heard spooky, and TRUE, stories and met Lady Sintana from House of Ravenwood, 7Stages ghosts, Deacon Lunchbox, Gregory Davis, and more.

Halloween

ACP Halloween Photo Walk
Held the Halloween Photo Walk in conjunction with the Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival. Following a month-long submission period, we enlarged the scariest, winning photographs on L5P business windows.

Halloween Banners!
Hung banners in the plaza featuring art by Shane Morton.

Parade of the Dead
Helped organize the Parade of the Dead with Chantelle Rytter featuring stunning Day of the Dead-themed puppets and delighted spectators.

First Voices Festival
L5PBiz partnered with Turtle Island Trading and 7Stages put on the inaugural L5P First Voices Festival in Bass Fields, offering local Indigenous and Native American artists a platform to share their stories, art, and culture through dance, music, a market, and demonstrations.

Decorated for the holidays
L5PBiz got festive this year and strung lights on the trees, decorated TWO Christmas trees in Findley Plaza, and hung holiday themed pole banners on the light posts. Businesses decorated their own wreaths and hung them between the banners.

Santa Con
Atlanta’s Santas came out for a holiday bar crawl between Star Bar, the Vortex, Corner Tavern, Brewhouse, Hudson Grille, and Yacht Club and raised donations for Atlanta Harm Prevention and Draw Change.

Last Minute Holiday Market
On December 21 local artists set up down Euclid Ave and sold last minute, one-of-a-kind gifts at the Bizarre Bazaar Holiday Market. Video recap to the right~~
