Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, volunteer-led, neighborhood walks that generate conversation about the city and celebrate its vibrant past, present, and future.
The festival honors Jane Jacobs, who was an urban activist, author of The Death and Life of Great American Cities, and believer in the power of citizens to make a difference in their city.
Little 5 Points History Walk
Join the History Makers and hear stories told by Don Bender and Kelly Jordan, two long-time community developers in Little 5 Points. Several of these first-hand stories about Little 5 Points, from the 60's thru the 90's, are not widely known, nor written down.
Hear how the community saved itself from destruction by highway and listen to stories about legacy businesses like 7 Stages, Variety Playhouse, L5P Community Center, Bond Credit Union, and more.

What to Bring & Wear: Please wear comfortable shoes, bring some water and a camera.
Terrain: The walk will be a little over 1 mile, lasting approximately 1.5 hours. It is handicapped accessible, but there are some broken sidewalks. There are many bike racks located throughout L5P and a map can be accessed here.
Meeting Place: Little 5 Points Community Center, 1083 Austin Avenue, Atlanta, GA, 30307. Meet at steps on the Euclid Ave. side of the building. This site is ½ mile from the Inman Park MARTA Station. If you must drive, there is parking behind the building.
About Your Tour Leaders:
Don, a social activist, has been focused on the redevelopment of Little 5 Points & other intown commercial businesses districts with particular attention to the arts.
Kelly moved into Little 5 Points in 1974 and immediately became active in various efforts to preserve and revitalize the commercial district and the surrounding community.
