Pride Sip 'n Scrap

Pride Sip 'n Scrap

This Sunday is L5P Sip-'n-Scrap at the L5 Corner Tavern from 4-7pm. Scraplanta and L5PBiz have teamed up to decorate the Plaza with sustainable art this summer, and we need YOUR help to make it! Scraplanta will supply scraps and art teachers—and its free!

The Little 5 Points Business Association (L5PBiz) and Scraplanta invite creatives of all skill levels to an evening of “sipping and scrapping!” Help transform recycled materials into sustainable art to decorate Findley Plaza at the L5 Corner Tavern (1174 Euclid Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307) on Sunday, May 21, from 3-7 pm. This will be the first “Sip & Scrap” of the summer, and is the result of a recent community grant from the Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) system.

Each month’s Sip-'n-Scrap events promise an enjoyable and educational experience for all participants, with art teachers and materials provided by Scraplanta. The art created by participants will decorate Findley Plaza throughout the summer, promoting sustainability in the community. The May Scrap will be themed for Pride and summertime! Participants will have the opportunity to create eco-friendly art pieces for the community plaza, and also to bring home.

Scraplanta Creative Reuse is a 501(c)3 non-profit on a mission to empower Atlanta artists, makers, teachers, and students to create beautiful works of art from discarded materials. They also have a retail store, now open and selling materials to the Atlanta creative community at 2130 Henderson Mill Rd.

"We're thrilled to partner with L5PBiz to showcase sustainable art and inspire people to make a difference in their communities," said Sarah Jewell, an organizer at Scraplanta.

The Sip-'n-Scrap on May 21, is open to everyone, regardless of age or skill level, and is completely free of charge. Drinks and refreshments will be available from the L5 Corner Tavern.
